Happy Monday!
This past week, I attended a friend’s grandfather’s funeral. He was a rather remarkable man, who had the good fortune of living a long and rich life, full of family, friends and lots of love. Though funerals are never pleasant, the service was heartwarming, because the family opted to celebrate his life, rather than mourn his passing–which got me to thinking…
Many of us are quick to acknowledge tomorrow is not promised, yet I’m compelled to ask, how many of us live accordingly–as if today is our last day? Not in a morbid sense, but in the true sense of actually living in, appreciating and taking advantage of the present.
Preparing for and looking forward to the future are great, but not at the expense of foregoing the here and now. Find something special/meaningful to do each day–no matter how big or small. Take time to bask in the moment. Why? Because life happens real time.
I’ve often put things off until tomorrow (or whenever), assuming I’ll eventually get around to them. Starting today, I’ll focus less on tomorrow, and strive to make the most of each day. No… I won’t endeavor to be superwoman; but I will try to eliminate the woulda, shoulda, coulda’s by taking time out each day to stop and smell the roses.
What will you do today?
Today I will look and APPLY for jobs, online or otherwise. My husband has been bringing the bread for quite a while. Need to add some meat, cheese, etc.
Make someone smile
Pay my bills on time
Actually budget my finances for the month
Love myself
Tell family I love them
Especially love numbers 1 & 4 on the list!
